On 5 February 2026, De Centrale will host an evening that invites everyone to share a moment in which grief is no longer carried in silence, but is allowed to sound, resonate, and soften. The programme of this evening has two parts.
The substantive segment, featuring a panel discussion, is organised by the All Eyes on Iran campaign.
In Iran, the protests of recent weeks against the regime have escalated. Human rights organisations report thousands of deaths, while also stating that they do not yet know the exact numbers. They fear that detained protesters will be executed without any form of due process. Trying demonstrators without giving them sufficient time or facilities to prepare their defence, denying them access to a lawyer of their choice, or relying on forced confessions violates the right to a fair trial. In doing so, the regime has been breaching the international human rights treaties it has signed for decades—while the world watches. This must change. Iranian citizens need the full support of the international community.
The All Eyes on Iran campaign calls for sustained attention to the repression and human rights violations that are unacceptable. This campaign is supported by various organisations, including 11.11.11 and the Flemish Bar Association (the professional organisation of more than 11,000 lawyers), and is endorsed by Wies De Graeve (Director of Amnesty International). It has already been signed by around 100 well-known and concerned citizens.
The artistic segment, featuring musical performances and poetry, is curated by Farnoosh Khodadadeh together with Hamdam VZW (Ehsan Yadollahi, musician).
In sound, we find recognition. Music and poetry act as balm for the soul and carry an ancient tradition in which art provides refuge in times of sorrow. In togetherness, connection arises. This togetherness symbolises Iranian hospitality. It is a way to carry collective suffering.
We wish to express our support, and your support matters too!
