We kick things off with a dance initiation. Ideal if you’ve never been to a Boombal before, or if you want to refresh your dance moves. You’ll learn the most commonly played folk dances. They are easy, fun, and above all very sociable. No dance partner? No problem—you’ll find one on the dance floor.

Aurélien Claranbaux quite literally left his mark on Boombal 23 years ago. The logo of his band Zef is still written in permanent marker on the original Boombal dance floor… In the meantime, Aurélien has grown into an absolute maestro of the accordion. His solo sets are just as masterful, stirring, and danceable as those with a full orchestra. If Boombal Festival consistently receives praise for its exceptional and unparalleled sound quality, it’s thanks to Aurélien, Jeroen, Ward, and a fantastic sound system that they improve year after year. Driven by great sound, brilliant accordion playing, and being a dancer at heart, Aurélien delivers a set you’ll truly savor.

We close the evening in sublime fashion with Naragonia. Toon and Pascale have been part of Boombal since its very early days. At the Boombal Festival, they celebrate their 21st appearance this year, and at Boombal Ghent they can tick off even more milestones… A wonderfully beautiful interplay from the best balfolk band in Europe.
