Abdelhalim Hafez (1929-1977) is also considered the James Dean of the Arabic world. His multi-talent as singer, actor and fashion icon made him a superstar.
In the Arabic world he made part of the Big Four: Oum Kalthoum, Farid El Atrash, Fairouz and himself. Rarely, his musical legacy is edited by musicians from various corners and disciplines.
For this program, the Amsterdams Andalusisch Orkest has selected renowned musicians from classical and Arabic music and invited one of the most unique Abdelhalim interpreters of the moment. His name is Youssef Jrifi, praised for his precision, vocal refinement and musical ingenuity.
