AVAN . Amin Azizi & Ali Choupani Nejad

A musical journey through the soul of Iran

Meet Amin Azizi, a classically trained vocalist and multi-instrumentalist dedicated to the rich tradition of Persian music. He brings the centuries-old repertoire of the Radif to life with his voice and two iconic string instruments: the Setar and the Tanbur.

Amin was trained by great masters such as Ali Akbar Moradi, one of the most important Tanbur players of our time. His music transcends borders and connects people—whether in concert halls or during workshops with refugees, prisoners, or people with visual impairments.

For this intimate café concert, Amin is joined by a special musical partner: Ali Choupani Nejad, a young flutist, pianist, and sound artist who uniquely blends classical and contemporary Iranian music. Ali studied at the Art University of Tehran and is currently continuing his studies at the KASK Conservatory in Ghent.

Let yourself be carried away by the sounds of an ancient tradition, brought to life by two masters who effortlessly merge heritage and innovation.
