B’net Chaabi & Les Shikhats meet for a unique concert showcasing Morocco's beautiful traditional popular song culture.
Just like the Ghanayats (the singers who have been making typical music of the cities of Northern Morocco since the beginning of last century), the B'net Chaabi are driven by the desire to continue their musical tradition, but here in Belgium. With a lot of passion they interpret their version of the "chaabi" (literally popular) as Moroccan pop music is called.
The Shikhats for their part are initiated into this popular song culture by Laïla Amezian and together they explore the vocal challenges of the repertoire.
