BOOMBAL GHENT

We start the evening with a dance initiation. The most common dances are being taught. You do not have to bring a partner. Everyone dances with everyone! After that we smoothly go on  to the actual ball with the super-talented youngsters of EmBRUN.
A full tent or hall with a dancing enthusiastic crowd and on stage an equally enthusiastic folk band. Damp with sweat and full of surrender. That is what characterizes  a performance by EmBRUN. Tons of energy that this neat company transfers to the public, which is now exploding.
The music of EmBRUN is traditionally tinted and interspersed with contemporary, often progressive sounds and rhythms.
As a real live band they record their third album live in April 2013. This album is a good example of what a performance by Embrun means: steaming, swinging and here and there intimate. In short: a well-oiled five-cylinder engine with lots of horsepower, rhythmically tight and musically surprising .
Since 2002 they have been a fixed value  on the Belgian folk scene and they have also shown their ability on many European stages abroad, such as Gooikoorts, Saint-Chartier, Lindeboom Festival, Bal der Bals, Ététrad, Dranouter, Folkwoods, Deerlycke, Tanzhausfest, Andanças, Boombalfestival, Entrudanças, Castlefest, Texel, ...
