COLETIVO SAIDEIRA invites Marijn van der Linden

Coletivo Saideira is a new choro collective based in Brussels. They perform a blend of lively and wistful pieces from this rich Brazilian instrumental tradition.
The saideira is the very last (encore) tune played at a choro gathering (roda)—although such an evening usually ends only after five saideiras.

Choro emerged from the cultural melting pot of 19th‑century Rio de Janeiro and is still very much alive today, far beyond the borders of Brazil. The genre is known for its playful interplay between musicians and embraces a wide range of rhythms such as maxixe, tango brasileiro, samba, waltz, and more.

After the concert, there will be an open jam session/roda.  So be sure to bring your instrument!
