Dia De Los Muertos '26

The monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) travels up to 5,000 kilometres (about 3,100 miles) each year between Canada, the United States and Mexico. This spectacular migration is considered one of the world's most remarkable natural phenomena.

In Mexico, the arrival of the monarch butterflies coincides with Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), the annual celebration honouring departed loved ones.

On the 31th of October, the monarch butterflies land at De Centrale for an authentic Día de los Muertos celebration, curated for the 11th consecutive year by Marcela Narvaez Dávila.

Mariachi de Amberes sets the mood with a festive performance filled with Mexican classics, mariachi harmonies and irresistible serenades.

Next, AYEKAN takes the stage. This Chilean-Peruvian band serves up an infectious blend of cumbia, huayno, salsa, saya and other Latin American styles. Combining psychedelic electric sounds, warm string instruments and driving rhythms, Ayekan guarantees a vibrant and heartwarming concert experience.

After the annual costume contest, La Mamboteca takes over the celebrations. Their DJs showcase the richness of Latin American musical culture, from timeless classics to the contemporary sounds shaping the continent today.

A party for all generations, lasting well into the early hours!
