DJ Grazzhoppa's DJ Bigband

After more than a decade of silence, DJ Grazzhoppa’s DJ Bigband is back—and stronger than ever!

The twelve-member turntable mothership, joined by the soulful voice of Monique Harcum and sax legend Fabrizio Cassol as mentor, presents The Science of Friction: a blazing selection of top tracks from their five previous formats.

This unique story began in 2003 with 6 DJs (Size #1), which quickly expanded into a full 12-piece Bigband (Size #2). They made headlines with a standout performance at the Royal Theatre La Monnaie in Brussels, joined by Cassol (Aka Moon) on sax and the powerful vocals of Mo.

Next came Size #3, a musical fusion with jazz trio Aka Moon, released on DVD and CD. Size #4 – 80 Beats Around the World – featured a horn section and vocalists Monique Harcum and Laila Amazian.
With Size #5 – Back to Scratch, the group returned to its roots: 6 DJs and Mo, in a raw, stripped-down setup.

In 2022, CC Brugge honored DJ Grazzhoppa as artist-in-residence, even naming a square after him: the "Grazzhoppaplein". This gave him the time, space, and means to reunite the full DJ Bigband.
The Science of Friction is the result: the best of five eras condensed into one powerful set full of good vibes!
