Fred Gata

Fred Gata is a Rwandan-Belgian artist with a voice that hovers somewhere between warm tea and a smoky Sunday evening. He moves at the intersection of hip-hop and soul — but anyone who’s seen him live knows that ‘moves’ is no exaggeration. The man lives his music.

He won the most recent edition of Sound Track for Flemish Brabant and is currently an artist in residence at Het Depot. In addition to his solo work, he has collaborated with artists like Vinci and Brosbros, and was part of the Fabrecollectiv collective.

Driven by a deep interest in art and community, Fred aims to bring people together — in Leuven and beyond. Themes like connection, creative exchange, and the power of collaboration and encounter run like a thread through his work.

In September 2024, Fred will release his new single "I'm Feeling Low Again", a collaboration with producer Poldoore and keyboardist Joachim Saerens (Selah Sue). The track marks his return to the musical spotlight.
