A Syrian clarinet meets a Dutch string ensemble. And they lived happily ever after.

Kinan Azmeh moves in the space where jazz, classical music and Arab traditions converge. Or rather, where such categories cease to exist. The Dutch Fuse Ensemble, meanwhile, plays everywhere except within the lines. Together, they create music rooted in imagination, unpredictability and elusiveness.

Expect no polite fusion, but vibrant collisions: the clarinet murmurs, chatters and darts ahead, while the strings either follow its lead or push back in resistance. A concert without classical music, without jazz, without labels.

Simply: music that is exactly what it is.
