Heritage Day 2025 . MUSIC ON

Where history, diversity, and music come together

As an organizer of performing arts, De Centrale functions as an open house, providing a stage for artistic expressions that emerge from the cultural diversity of Ghent, Flanders, and Brussels. De Centrale highlights, supports, and ensures recognition and appreciation of these expressions among a broader audience, building bridges within and between diverse communities.

Visit the industrial heritage gem where De Centrale is housed—celebrating its 100th anniversary this year! Discover the turbine hall, the boiler room, and explore unique traditions that have become part of our musical intangible heritage, such as Nowruz, Hidirellez, and Día de los Muertos.

To mark 30 years of De Centrale and 100 years of the power plant, we warmly invite you to a special guided tour with guide Nicolas Marichal!

Follow in the footsteps of those who kept the historic turbines running, as well as the pioneers who helped shape the cultural mission of De Centrale today. Additionally, the Nieuwe Dokken will offer a glimpse into their fascinating past.
