Hossein Behroozinia (Tehran, 1962) is widely regarded as one of the foremost contemporary performers of the barbat, the Persian variant of the oud. Admitted to the Tehran Conservatory at an early age, he studied the tar with Reza Vohdaney and the lute with Mansour Nariman. He later deepened his knowledge of the Persian classical music tradition and the radif under the guidance of the renowned master Mohammad Reza Lotfi.
His exceptional talent did not go unnoticed. At just seventeen years of age, Behroozinia was already teaching at Iran’s Centre for Preservation and Propagation of Music, an institution dedicated to safeguarding and transmitting the Persian classical music tradition. In addition to his work as a performing musician, he has held several leadership positions within the music world.
Pouriya Jaberi (Kermanshah, 1987) is a percussionist and performer of traditional Persian music. He grew up in a family where music, poetry, and spirituality held a central place.
Since the age of eight, he has played the daf, the traditional Persian frame drum. At fifteen, he won an award at the prestigious Fajr International Music Festival, a significant recognition of his exceptional talent.
Jaberi has performed at numerous festivals throughout Asia, Europe, and Australia. His music reflects a profound connection to spirituality, meaning, and contemplation.
