The Kosmokrators bring Greek rebetika songs with Dutch, French, English and Greek lyrics. The translations stay close to the original , and maintaind the authentic hard and underground character of the rebetiko. The theme pre-eminiently is the World of dudes, tough musicians, sturdy fellows and hasj smokers from Athens and Piraeus.
It is always about dyed-in-the –wool lyrics, sometimes adapted to the here and now, sometimes hard, sometimes tender, but always provided of a good dose of humor.
