KUNDE
The Belgian-Cameroonian rapper, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Kunde moves effortlessly between jazz, R&B, hip-hop, and afrobeat. His music blends powerful storytelling with poetic rap, mixing personal reflections with sharp social commentary – all layered over rich grooves and harmonies.
With his new album Late Bloomer, he dives into stories that resonate universally: childhood memories, friendship, but also betrayal, loss, and the search for his Afro-European identity. Inspired by legends like Coltrane, J Dilla, D’Angelo, Don Blackman, and Arthur Verocai, the album builds on the success of Dandelion (2024), which earned him national and international acclaim. Recorded live with his band and fully written, composed, arranged, and mixed by Kunde himself, Late Bloomer confirms his role as the creative core and musical director.
Growing up surrounded by his father’s polyrhythmic sounds and his own collection of 90s hip-hop, Kunde started beatboxing and making sample-based beats at just ten years old. Later, he evolved into a pianist, vocalist, bassist, and composer. As a self-taught artist, he’s crafted a unique, global sound that stands confidently alongside names like Anderson .Paak, André 3000, and Butcher Brown.
Kunde is bringing Fred Gata and Helena Casella as special guests.
