LES GOÛTS DE GAND '19

On Saturday 18 May 2019, the time has come again: the annual world music festival Les Goûts de Gand conquers Ghent's Macharius district.
This free city festival celebrates its 13th edition this year, and you don't want to miss out on that!
A unique opportunity where you can taste literally and figuratively a super-diverse Ghent. Be guided to various concerts at small, large, charming and / or intimate locations. This year, the district also presents worldly music and dance for young and old!

Highlights are  Jiraan (Turkey / Syria / Belgium), the Ghent Caravan (Slovakia / Bulgarian / Macedonia / Belgium), Brussels Underground (Belgium), Fanfare Kimbanguiste (Congo), Merve Nur (Turkey), Les Bwaba (Burkina Faso), I Re Saltati (Sicily), Helena & Pablo Casella (Brazil) and Alpacas (Belgium).

The Coyendans park itself will once again become a "Feria Mundial", where you can eat a tasty snack and buy exotic items from 2 pm. In the "African Latin Area" you can go for dance initiations and open-air concerts. As always, the festival is part of UNESCO's "Day of Cultural Diversity, Dialogue and Development" on 21 May. The purpose of the day is to reflect briefly on the importance and understanding of the values ​​of cultural diversity and how we can "live together".
