Yelemani Trio . 10th Birthday Bash Party

Let's celebrate 10 years of Yelemani Trio!

With lots of live music, musical guests, and a fantastic party where everyone can dance the night away… For this special occasion, they’re inviting three top musicians to join them for a jam session, and DJ Moussa Rasé will be spinning tunes afterward.

Yelemani Trio (Burkinese for ‘change’) is formed by Moussa Dembele, Mathias Van de Wiele, and Giovanni Barcella, with roots in Burkina Faso, Belgium, and Italy, respectively. The band was formed in March 2014 out of a shared love for African and improvised music. Their music draws from various Burkinese traditions, as well as jazz, improvisation, rock, psychedelia, and electronic music. The result is an exotic sound adventure where dialogue, creation, and positive energy are at the core.

The musicians have already made their mark in top projects such as: Banquets Nomades, Moker, BackBack, Charles Gayle Trio, Va Fan Fahre…

Together, they weave balafon, kora, guitar, drums, trumpet, tama, electronics, and vocals into an exciting journey across the boundaries of time and space, usually as a trio, but also often with guest artists like Wassa Kouyaté (vocals, kora – Mali), Luc Sanou (contemporary African dance – Burkina Faso), Abdoulaye Traoré (guitar)…
