After a series of unfortunate goals conceded, he is benched — where he patiently waits for years for the moment he can defend the goal again. Fate eventually brings him back onto the pitch, in a match where there may not be a single shot on goal…
These 90 minutes unfold into a journey in which he, together with the audience, reflects on his past, his experiences, his choices, and on life itself.
‘The Man with Number 12’ is a performance in which goalkeeper Erkan Kolçak Köstendil takes the stage with a powerful, personal, and emotional portrayal about staying in goal, building a family, being part of a team, being alone, and daring to step beyond the lines.
