Massar Egbari

EUROPE TOUR - GHENT

Formed in Alexandria in 2005, Massar Egbari have grown to become one of most influential and most toured bands within Egypt's independent music scene. With three studio albums under their belt and millions of devout listeners, the band has stayed true to their name that translates to 'compulsory detour - reflecting on how society forces people to think and live their lives in a certain way.

Mixing rock, jazz, blues and Arabic music, the iconic 5-piece has been actively touring the Middle East, Africa, the Gulf, Europe and North America since 2007, bringing along with them their unique sound and growing new fans around the world.

Bestowed with the "Artists for Intercultural Dialog" Award by UNESCO in 2011, Massar Egbari also went on to win three consecutive years of 'Best Music Band' at the "Middle East Music Awards". Performing in Ghent as part of their first European tour post-pandemic, the rock pioneers will be performing their classics hits alongside a wide array of freshly released singles.

The event is organised by Lagrange Points Brussels and El-Wekala Global Productions in collaboration with MARSM.  Special thanks to Mir'a.
