Content: This workshop focuses on the interpretation and understanding of Persian classical music by studying pieces from the Persian classical music repertoire. Participants will be introduced to the concept of Dastgāh and will delve into interpretation, ornamentation, and improvisation.
Bio: Yasamin Shahhosseini was born in 1992 in Tehran. She began playing the oud at the Tehran Music School and continued her studies in Persian traditional music at the University of Tehran. Later, she earned her master's degree at the University of Macedonia in Greece and is currently continuing her studies as a doctoral student.
Yasamin has performed both in Iran and abroad, both as a solo artist and with various ensembles, and has participated in festivals and music residencies. In addition to her work as a composer, she has taught oud and contributed to several albums. She has conducted research and published translations about the oud in Iran. Her first solo album, Gahan, was released in 2015.
