After nearly 40 years, The Last Poets are returning to a stage in Ghent! On March 20, 2025, VIERNULVIER & De Centrale bring these iconic pioneers of spoken word and political rap to the city.
Formed in 1968, The Last Poets continue to be a powerful voice in the fight against racism and inequality with their sharp lyrics and rhythmic delivery. Their latest album, Africanism (2024), blends Afrobeat, jazz, and revolutionary spoken word, featuring contributions from members of Seun Kuti’s Egypt 80 and Courtney Pine.
The show will take place at De Centrale, on the eve of World Poetry Day and the International Day Against Racism.
