CHOCOLATE JESUS

For over two decades, Jan-Sebastiaan Degeyter has been shining as a guitarist on stage. Known as the founder, guitarist, and composer of the Ghent jazz quintet Laughing Bastards, the Afrikaans/Brussels Safar Republique, and the soul band Nneema.

His musical journey includes composing theater music for high-quality productions and writing songs and arrangements for various bands. Now he feels the time is ripe to share his own creations with the general public.

Chocolate Jesus, his latest solo project, embodies his most personal musical expression to date. Honest, dark, and often melancholic songs, infused with melody and lyricism, stir emotions. The rich musical background of the singer/guitarist subtly weaves through his own compositions, with various instruments creating a warm color palette.

Currently, he is collaborating with producer Koen Gisen on his debut album.
