On a Fasıl Night, as tradition dictates, you enjoy delicious mezze and rakı, Turkish appetizers and the national Turkish aniseed drink. During the Ottoman period, the fasıl resounded in palaces and upscale homes. Nowadays, you mainly hear this light classical music in Istanbul's restaurants because a fasıl is not complete without a table full of mezze and rakı. Come and enjoy the Istanbul Fasıl Ensemble and let yourself be carried away by the food, drinks, singing, and dancing. The Istanbul Fasıl Ensemble performs both Turkish classical music and fasıl, bringing the atmosphere of Istanbul nights to Gent.
