FELA KUTI CELEBRATION BAND + DJ AZAM

Meet the Fela Kuti Celebration Band, a tribute to the legendary pioneer of Afrobeat. Our ensemble brings Fela’s iconic compositions to life with a unique twist of our own.

Every performance is an explosion of energy and rhythm, where we share a musical trance with the audience. Join us for an unforgettable evening where tradition and innovation come together, keeping the spirit of Fela Kuti alive.

This year, we have performed at leading festivals and venues, including the Crossing Border Festival at Arenberg, Saka Saka Festival in Hasselt, De Blikfabriek, Minigolf Beatrijs, Bar d'Henri, Thailandje (sold out), Festival Des Arts (sold out), De Hoogmis (sold out), and Djingel Djangel (sold out).

The band consists of ten top musicians who are permanent members of renowned groups such as Zap Mama, Belgian Afrobeat Association, Stef Kamil Carlens & The Swoon, Lucid Lucia (BRZZVLL), Unfinished Business, Sam & Bert Joris Octet, Think Of One, and Wahwahsda.

Bodé Owa and Emma Osayande provide vocals, percussion, and dance. Seba Colson and Sam Joris play the trumpet. Vincent Brijs and Nero Vergaert perform on baritone and tenor saxophone. Jan Willems is on keyboards, David Bovée on guitar, and Toon Rumen on bass. Maarten Moesen takes care of the drums.
