Ko Shin Moon, a project spearheaded by Niko Shin and Axel Moon, was conceived in 2017 at the intersection of traditional Eastern strings and electronic music machinery.
Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of experimentalists such as David Byrne, Bill Laswell, Jah Wobble, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Ilaayarajan, and Patrick Cowley, Ko Shin Moon's studio in Paris serves as a sanctuary for their musical experimentation. Combining the sounds of traditional folk instruments collected during Axel Moon's four-year stay in India with the analog synths and vintage gear found in Niko Shin's recording studio, the duo creates otherworldly, hybrid melodies where psychedelia meets space disco.
Their ethos revolves around eclecticism, cosmopolitanism, and hybridity, shaping a musical journey where repertoires, genres, and eras converge to form a new language.
On stage, Ko Shin Moon's dynamic performances captivate audiences, offering an psychedelic fusion of sound and movement that has enchanted crowds at numerous avant-garde music events in France and beyond.
