Lady Blaxx invites Sonita & Majé

With this project, Lady Blaxx wants to break through the stereotypes surrounding black artists. There are still too few black artists on the Belgian stages - certainly within the 'non-black' genres. So it's time for some changes! Lady Blaxx invites various emerging artists of color for a live set and talks to them. For this 2nd edition in Ghent, Sonita and Majé were on her to-do list (after sessions in the Antwerp Arenberg and a modest edition at 'Les Goûts de Gand meets Hidirellez' last season)

Sonita

Sonita (Ojong) comes from Cameroon and brings a repertoire that consists of pop, Afropop, R&B, Funk and Jazz. In 2018 she reached the final of the TV show Belgium's Got Talent (Sz. 5) and in 2020 she participated in The Voice Belgique (Sz. 9). Soon she will release her first single and EP. She can't wait to share her beautiful music with you!

Majé

Majé (Elvira Lawson) is a Belgian singer-songwriter with Togolese roots. She was born and raised in Roeselare, West Flanders. Music fascinated her from an early age and became the common thread in her life. During the 2021 lockdown, Majé released her very first single 'Loud & Proud' and it wasn't long before she also gave her first live stream concert via De Centrale. Now is the ideal opportunity to see this wonderful singer live at work.

Lady Blaxx

Lady Blaxx (Raïssa Peeters) is a strong lady with a unique strong voice. Next to the stage she can still disappear into the crowd, but on stage she immediately attracts attention. No stage scares her, whether in a small hall or at a large festival. With her groovy funk pop rock she takes over every stage and audience.
