Rare Akuma + Majé

+ introducing Music on Wheels

Rare Akuma

Rare Akuma is one of the rising stars of the Belgian hip-hop scene. Lefto selects him for 'Made in Belgium' in 2018 and in 2019 he received the Chase Award for Best Belgian Urban Artist during the Red Bull Elektropedia Awards. From London to the US, his name is buzzing on the Underground circuit and with millions of streams on Spotify, his career is heading in the right direction. Zwangere Guy simply calls him "the most interesting artist I've come across in Belgium in recent years". On 'Wie Is Guy?' he made the beats of the hard-hitting closing track 'U Ma is U Pa' and on 'Brutaal' he made 'Guttergang II'. For his own ( 2nd) album 'dirtytwominus' - with a nod to the Belgian country code +32 - he collaborates with Yung Mavu, DVTCH NORRIS, Tsar B, KRANKk and Kleine Crack. Nest to dark trap, gangsta rap, hip-hop bangers and experimental noise, he produces sounds that have nothing to do with hip-hop at all.  Rules are simply made to be broken and after the UK and the US, the whole of Belgium is now guaranteed to fall for Rare Akuma.

Majé

Majé is a Belgian singer-songwriter/pianist with Togolese roots. She was born and raised in Roeselare, West Flanders. Music fascinated her from an early age and became the common thread in her life. During the lockdown she gave a livestream concert via De Centrale and on Friday 23 April 2021 she launched her very first single Loud & Proud. With her debut single, the artist, who is also a law student, makes her official entrance as a singer-songwriter and thus sets the tone for what is to come.  On November 12 she will bring new material and two backing vocals for starters.

Music on Wheels

The international crew of the project Music on Wheels blows a mix of Norwegian, Portuguese and Flemish wind through De Centrale. The multilingual rap verses, the beats and the moves of young dancers and musicians were fused together for the first time in early October into an energetic and danceable performance. Expect all things hip-hop in the broadest sense of the word, including hip-hop DJ Slice, Bader from Yalla Soundsystem, modern dance and break where encounters and improvisation are essential. Previously screened in the streets of Portugal and now in De Centrale for the apotheosis of their Belgian adventure, before departing for the far North.
