As one of the few female voices in Turkey, ZARA effortlessly moves through a wide variety of styles, from folk music and art music to Sufi music and classical music. All those styles are performed with a 'fabulously beautiful voice'. In her successful career she has performed with ensembles such as Trilok Gurtu and the Vienna Classical Players Orchestra. She also made a name for herself as an actress.
With her depth and perfect voice control, she is able to perform the Turkish folk repertoire in the purest and most original way like no other. She does this entirely in line with her status as one of the leading Turkish artists of the moment.
Special is ZARA's perfect mastery of the maqams. These Arabic scales are illustrative of the regional repertoire, whether in folk, classical or pop.
Through her unique captivating concerts ZARA reconnects listeners from all over the world.
