A Journey Through Centuries of Classical Turkish Music

The İstanbul Fasıl Ensemble brings together six outstanding musicians dedicated to the rich tradition of classical Turkish music. Joined by Sadiye Erimli, one of the genre’s most renowned vocalists, the ensemble presents a program that spans centuries of musical styles and traditions.

Those who know the ensemble from the fasıl evenings during Istanbul Ekspres will be aware that these events regularly sell out. This matinee concert offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the İstanbul Fasıl Ensemble in a different setting: not in the exuberant atmosphere of a traditional fasıl gathering, but as interpreters of the rich heritage of classical Turkish music.

The program explores the work of some of the greatest composers in Ottoman musical history. It features compositions by the influential music theorist and composer Abdülkadir Meragi, alongside works by iconic figures such as Buhurizade Mustafa Itri, Dede Efendi, and Hacı Arif Bey.
