INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

WOMEN AFTER WORK

WOMEN AFTER WORK: WORKSHOPS (4:00-7:00 PM)

Seventy years after the introduction of women's suffrage in belgium, we pay tribute to all women who, after their hours, are committed to each other, their environment and the world. Be inspired by passionate Ghent women and roll up your sleeves in three workshops to choose from: Walk along in a Privilege Walk, discover centuries-old hammam techniques, attend a class of Gender & Diversity Studies, cook in a professional kitchen , create a calligraphy artwork yourself and learn all about your own voting rights (tip of the veil: that also came 'after work'). And so much more.

Free, but inscription is necessary via via www.vormingplusgent-eeklo.be

VROUWEN ON STAGE: 8:00 - 10:00 PM

A SPECIAL BLEND - A lot can happen over Chai

In this beautiful Indian-oriental dance performance different worlds inspire each other from a simple cup of tea. Women pick up tea at the henna, to share sweetness and suffering, to get dressed, but especially when dancing. And when women dance together, magic happens. Boundaries fade far beyond the Eastern. Get ready to be surprised and moved by "A SPECIAL BLEND - A lot can happen over Chai".

A Maya Sapera Company & Chimella production

ENTR TAKE-OVER: 6:00 - 8:00 PM

Women in the kitchen, a cliché? Not in professional kitchens. Today only ten percent of the chefs are women. Also in ENTR two male chefs control the (albeit very tasty) choice. In honor of International Women's Day they stand their place for one day and a female chef takes over. Come taste the result during dinner. Only on International Women's Day in ENTR.

€ 15.00 reservation necessary only via tina.degendt@vormingplus.be

Co-org. De Centrale, FMV, FZO-VL, Hermes, KVLV, Merhaba, Nakhla, Neapolis, Onderzoekscentrum voor Cultuur en Gender (UGent), Univers’elle, Viejoteca, VOEM, Vormingplus Gent-Eeklo & Zij-Kant.
