CESAMM (Jonet Chair, UGent), in collaboration with the East Flemish HUB partners De Centrale and Ha'Concerts, and with Muziekmozaïek, organizes an inspiration moment for musicians and session leaders in participatory music projects.
The inspirational moment will be introduced by Jo Gibson from York St. John University and An De Bishop from Ghent University with a lecture about skills and competencies that musicians need in guiding participatory music projects.
This will be followed by a concrete insight into the Erasmus+ project Crossing Borders, Sharing Songs of the music organizations KleinVerhaal (Belgium), Flotsam Sessions (United Kingdom) and Orchestre Partout (Netherlands). Muziekmozaïek followed this project and compiled the lessons learned in an online publication. This includes methods to create music with various groups. Based on concrete video fragments and workshops, you will receive tips about making music together in a culturally diverse context.
We will be making (acoustic) music together, so bring your instrument!
