Welcome to this fun series of percussion lessons for kids who love to drum!
Especially designed for children aged 6 to 12, this series of Eastern percussion lessons focuses on the darbuka – a goblet-shaped drum with a unique sound, originating from countries like Turkey, Egypt, and other parts of the Middle East and the Balkans.
During the lessons, children will get to know the basic techniques and rhythms of the darbuka in a playful way. We work entirely by ear, so no musical background or reading of sheet music is required. It’s all about the joy of making music together!
We drum in a group and learn fun, recognizable rhythms by listening and repeating. In this way, children are introduced to the world of Eastern percussion in an accessible and cheerful way.
