Burkina Faso, a small, completely closed-inn country in West Africa, has a very vivid community of artists, musicians and engaged civilians. They show how one ca, come to political change. Through music,, film, ecology, visual arts and architecture, they continue the revolutionary legacy of  Thomas Sankara. After having accepted the presidency in 1983, Sankara was murdered in 1987 in a coup d’état under the charge of his best friend and advisor Blaise Compaoré. Compaoré then ruled the country for 27 years as a real autocrat. In October 2014, a mass popular uprising led to his removal. The spirit of resistance and political change is more powerful than ever in Burkina Faso. An inspiration, not just for Africa, but for the whole world.
